Alice M. Amundson                    (From the collection of Vivian Norby 
Andersen)

	Alice M. Amundson, 79, of Soldier, Iowa, died Monday, January 21, 
1985, at Maple Heights Nursing Home in Mapleton, Iowa.
	She was born December 27, 1905, at Bayfield, Colorado, to John and 
Rachel Ann Baker Brakefield.   On June 2, 1930, she was married to Sherman 
Hope Monnie in Torrance, California.    On November 19, 1944, she married R. 
Harold Amundson at Long Beach, California.   He died June 7, 1978, at 
Soldier.  
	
	Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Merrill (Shirley Monnie) Gran and 
one step-daughter-in-law,  both of Soldier, Iowa; four grandchildren; four 
step-grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; one 
niece; and a special friend, Marion Arnold of Mapleton, Iowa.
	She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two step-sons, 
Francis Monnie and Richard Amundson; one step-grandson, George Amundson; one 
sister, and one brother.
