He had not been in the best of health the past two years following a heart attack at that time. However, his death came as a shock for he had been working every day and apparently was getting along quite well. Funeral services were held Saturday a(sic) 2:30 p.m. at St. Matthew’s Lutheran church in Mapleton. Rev. E. E. Greene officiated and burial was in Mt. Hope cemetery. Howard James Moore was born October 18, 1907 at Moorhead, Iowa, resided there until 1929 when he moved to Solder(sic), and lived here until moving to Mapleton in 1935. Employed by the Chevrolet dealer in Mapleton he was honorary president of the 200-Car club of the Omaha zone; and one of the 40 high-car salesmen of the United States in 1956. He was a member of St. Matthew’s Lutheran church. On March 18, 1931 he married the former Alice Evenson of Soldier at Elkpoint, (sic) S. D. Survivors, in addition to his widow include two daughters, Mrs. Robert Conyers and Frances of Mapleton; four sons, Roland of Sioux City, Roger of Pierre, S. D., James and Jerry of Mapleton; his parents, Mrs. and Mrs. Claude Moore, Des Moines; three brothers, Ronald and Don of Des Moines and Willard of Houston, Texas; two sisters, Mrs. Glenn Outhouse, Des Moines and Mrs. Ernest Ravnsborg of Turin; and three grandchildren.
