JOHN EDGAR NEAL              (From the collection of Vivian Norby Andersen)

	John Edgar Neal, the son of Charles and Mary Capitola DeWeese Neal, 
was born at Moorhead, Iowa, on August 2, 1886.    On March 25, 1908, John and 
Blanche Schmidt were married at Gilbert, Iowa.  They lived and farmed in the 
Moorhead area.
        The Neal's resided in Moorhead and also Anthon, IA.
	John suffered an attack on  January 7, 1973, and passed away enroute 
to the hospital in Sioux City, IA.
	Mr. Neal is survived by his wife, Blanche, with whom he had shared 
nearly sixty five years of marriage.  He is also survived by his son, Clair, 
of Jackson, Michigan, and by three daughters; Lucille, Mrs. John Mugge, of 
Cedar Falls, Iowa; Louise, Mrs. Melvin Thorson of Rolfe, Iowa; and Enid, Mrs. 
Robert Petersen of rural Danbury, Iowa.  There are six grandchildren.  One 
brother, Loys Neal, of Moorhead, also survives.  He was preceded in death by 
his parents, 2 brothers, 1 sister, 1 foster brother, and two daughters, Edith 
and Virginia.
