	Alta Christina Nelsen, 85, Soldier, Iowa, died Sunday, July 31, 1988, 
in Burgess Memorial Hospital, Onawa, Iowa.
	She was born February 21, 1903, in Spring Valley Township between 
Soldier and Moorhead, daughter of  Carl Orin and Minnie (Evenson) Thoreson.    
On October 14, 1925, she married Adolph Nelsen at Soldier.  He died in 
December 1958 at Omaha, Neb.  
	 Survivors includ three sons, Clarion of Soldier, Aimsel of Denver, 
Colo., and John of Dublin, Ohio, four daughters, Mrs. Richard (Annette) Maahs 
of Sioux City, Mrs. Wilbur (Ione) Olson of Maumee, Ohio, Yvonne Reincke of 
Soldier, and Mrs. Richard (Gloria) Lee of Garland, Texas, six sister, Hazel 
Heistand of Missouri Valley, Mabel Rustin of Soldier, Minnie Mann and Marie 
Edison, both of Littleton, Colo., Ella Muckey of Anaheim, Calif., and Lillian 
Mann of Omaha, twenty-five grandchildren, forth-three great grandchildren, and 
three great great grandchildren.
	She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Adolph and one 
brother, Clifford Thoreson.
