	Niles (Pete) Nelson, 90, of Mapleton died Friday, April 19, 1996, at 
Maple Heights Nursing Home in Mapleton.
	Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. John’s United Methodist Church 
	Mr. Nelson was born Aug. 11, 1905, near Castana in Center Township, 
the son of Nels K. and Sine (Larsen) Nelson.  He married Gladyce Swenson Nov 
1, 1938, at Soldier.  
	
	Survivors include his wife; two sons and their wives, Arlo and Donald 
Nelson and Floyd and Thelma Nelson, all of Sioux City; a daughter, Judy and 
her husband, Woody Meister of Owatonna, Minn.; a sister, Anna Nelson of Onawa; 
seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
	He was also preceded in death by a brother; two sisters and one great-
granddaughter.
