She died shortly after going to her upstairs room to bed. Mrs. Nelson had made her home with her brother, Dolphin for many years. At the time of her death she was 81 years, 7 months and 21 days old. Funeral services were held at the Soldier Lutheran south church Tuesday, July 2 at 2:00 p.m. Pastor Maynard Moen gave the sermon. Mrs. Norman C. Hanson was soloist and sang “What A Friend We Have In Jesus” and “In The Garden”, accompanied at the organ by Miss Jean Amunson. Interment was in Soldier Valley Cemetery under the direction of Pearson Funeral Home of soldier. Pallbearers were Lowell and Clifford Amunson, Donald Anderson and Marlow, Gordon and Vernon Clemon. Luella Nelson, daughter of Martin and Adaline Clemon, was born at Soldier, Iowa November 9, 1881 and passed away at the Dolphin Clemon home at Soldier on Sunday, June 30, 1963 at the age of 81 years 7 months and 21 days. She grew up in the Soldier community and lived here her entire life. She was baptized and confirmed in Soldier Lutheran Church and was a faithful member all her life. She was a member of the ladies aid. She was untied in marriage to Carl Nelson and he preceded her in death several years ago. Surviving are one daughter, Gladys (Mrs. Bus Reedy); three brothers, Dolphin of Soldier, Victor of Irwin and Walter of Ute; two sisters, Mrs. Honora Amunson of Soldier and Mrs. Rozella Christman of Ute. She was preceded in death by three brothers, three sisters and two grandsons in infancy.
