Mrs. Helen Nelson			(From the collection of Vivian Norby 
Andersen)

	Mrs. Helen Anita Nelson, Onawa, Iowa, died on September 25, 1983, at 
Elmwood Nursing Home in Onawa, IA.
	She was born Helen Anita Fredrickson near Onawa on January 15, 1896, 
to Anton and Marie Jorgensen Fredrickson.  She was married to Nels Nelson on 
March 5, 1918 at rural Moorhead, Iowa.  Mr. Nelson died October 5, 1970 at 
Onawa.
	Helen taught school at Castana Normal School for eight years and had 
	Survivors include her two sons, one of Clinton, Arkansas, and another  
of Sioux City, Iowa; one daughter of Storm Lake, Iowa; 11 grandchildren and 4 
great grandchildren; and two brothers, Herald Fredrickson of Onawa, Raymond 
Fredrickson of Moorhead and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in 
death by her husband, one sister and one brother.
