Mrs. Axie Nelson                         (From the collection of Vivian Norby 
Andersen)

	Mrs. Axie Nelson, Ute, Iowa, died on October 22, 1984, in a hospital 
in Sioux City, Iowa.  
	She was born on December 30, 1902, at Blakesburg, Iowa, the daughter 
of James and MaryAnn Smith Barnes.  She moved to the Soldier area with her 
family.  She married Henry Nelson September 8, 1931, at Elk Point, S.D.   Mr. 
Nelson died July 9, 1982, at Onawa.  
	Survivors include her son, Dale of Ute, two brothers, Dale Barnes of 
Ute and Chester Barnes of Livermore, Iowa, three sisters, Mrs. Florence Nagel 
of Onawa, Mrs. Frances Tadlock of Sioux City and Mrs. Wayne (Ruby) Hayworth of 
Anthon, and three grandchildren and a great grandson.  She was preceded in 
death by her parents, her husband, three sisters, Alice Pearl and Bernice, and 
four brothers, Herb, Clarence, Oscar and Claudie.
