OBITUARY OF
WM. NEUMANN                         (From the collection of Vivian Norby 
Andersen)

	Wilhelm Carl Gustav Neumann, son of Wilhelm and Louesa Neumann, was 
born Sept. 21, 1880 at Brandenburg, Germany.  He was the third child in a 
family of five children.  As a small boy, he came with his parents to the 
U.S., settling in Stockholm township, Crawford county area.  In 1911 he came 
to the Ute community where he farmed and resided for the remainder of his 
life.  He and his wife retired from farming in 1952 and moved into Ute.
	He was baptized during his infancy in Germany and was confirmed into 
the Lutheran faith April 12, 1895 at the Stockholm township Lutheran church.  
He had been a member of St. Pauls Lutheran church since coming to the Ute 
community.
	He was married to Lena Bramstedt on March 26, 1913 at Ute.  This union 
was blessed with two daughters and three sons.
	Mr. and Mrs. Neumann had celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary 
last March.  He was a very devoted husband and father and was highly respected 
by all his neighbors and friends.
	Having been in ill health for several years, he passed away on 
Christmas morning at his home, having reached the age of 83 years 3 months and 
4 days.
	He is survived by his wife, Lena, two daughters, Mrs. Wilbert (Stella) 
Jansen and Mrs. Lyle (Helen) Johnson of Soldier, two sons, Herbert of  Ute and 
Harold of Neola; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren and also 
other distant relatives  and a host of friends.  He was preceded in death by 
his parents, one son, Walter, one sister and three brothers and two 
grandchildren.
