Mrs. Norby had lived in the Soldier-Moorhead vicinity all her life. She was most active in church work throughout her lifetime. Funeral services were held at Soldier Lutheran Church Wednesday, December 12 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Maynard Moen and Rev. A. H. Mjorud officiating. Mrs. Norman C. Hanson was vocalist and sang, “Jesus, Priceless Treasure” and “Behold The Host”. Margaret Evenson was at the organ. Interment was in Soldier Valley Cemetery under the direction of Pearson Funeral Home of Soldier. Pallbearers were Casper Pohlman, Wilbur Jensen, Lawrence Major, Newell Lund, Art Holverson and Ted Lee. Sarah Bertha, daughter of John and Anna Rustin, was born January 7, 1891 near Moorhead, Iowa. She passed away December 10, 1962 at the Onawa hospital after a short illness. She was united in marriage to Henry Norby March 11, 1914 at the Soldier Lutheran south church parsonage. To this union one son and three daughters were born. Surviving are the husband; one son, Gerald, of Cedar Falls, Iowa; three daughters, Agnes (Mrs. Vernon Clemon) of Soldier, Marjorie (Mrs. Norman Engebretson) of Superior, Wisconsin, and Lois (Mrs. William Hammer) of Worthington, Minn.; 12 grandchildren; three brothers, Christ Rustin of Soldier, Gilbert Rustin of Pisgah and Henry Onstad of Dunlap; one sister, Mrs. Josephine Andersen of Onawa. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Orville and Carl Rustin and one sister, Selma.
