Elmer Nordaker 
Rites Held Monday			(From the collection of Vivian Norby 
Andersen)

	Elmer Nordaker, 82, a lifelong resident of the Soldier community with 
the exception of the last couple of years, passed away Thursday, July 3 at 
Nora Springs, Iowa.
	He was a member of Soldier Lutheran Church, having been baptized May 
22, 1887 and confirmed Sept. 27, 1903.  He is survived by one brother, Swin; 
one sister, Mrs. Gunda Berg, and several nieces and nephews.
	Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, July 7 at Soldier 
Lutheran Church.  Pastor Harold Koehler of Moorhead officiated.  Mrs. Charles 
Dommer Jr. sang “The Old Rugged Cross” and “In The Garden”.  Mrs. Harry 
Andersen was organist.
	Interment was in Soldier Valley Cemetery under the direction of 
Pearson Funeral Home of Soldier.  Casket bearers were Milford Nordaker, Howard 
Nordaker, Glen Berg, Vernon Berg, William Lehmberg and Eugene Sexton.
