P. Ollgard was born on November 28, 1888 at Strellev, Denmark and passed from this life in Onawa on Wednesday morning, April 13, 1966 at the age of 77 years. He had made his home with his sister, Mrs. Lena Andersen in Onawa for the past ten years. Mr. Ollgard came to America in 1910 from Denmark and for many years worked on various construction projects throughout the country. He also had engaged in farming. He enjoyed this work and helped his nephew, Harry Andersen, near Soldier with farming. He was a veteran of World War 1 where he served in the U. S. Army. Survivors include his sister, Lena, and two sisters and one brother in Denmark and a number of nieces and nephews and many friends. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith in Denmark. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 15 at the Pearson Funeral Chapel in Onawa. Pastor Harry Sorensen of the Soldier Lutheran Church officiated. Mrs. Norman C. Hanson sang “Behold A Host” and “My Faith Looks Up To Thee”, accompanied by Mrs. Charles Dommer Jr. The casket bearers were Harold Fredrickson, Richard Paseka, Jessie Chedester, Walfred Anderson, Vernon Clemon and Robert Jensen. Interment was in the Jordan cemetery west of Soldier.
