	Mildred Helen Olsen, 86, of Onawa, Iowa, died Tuesday, January 23, 
1996, at her residence.
	She was born February 2, 1909, near Moorhead, Iowa, the daughter of 
Irvin W. and Floy (Parker) Surber.   On September 26, 1927, she married Melvin 
E. Olsen at Elk Point, SD.  Mr. Olsen died September 30, 1975, in Onawa.  
	Survivors include a daughter, Connie and her husband, F. W. Lautenbach 
of Lake Havasu City, AZ; a son, Philip and his wife, Lois of Sioux City; five 
grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
	She was preceded in death by five sisters, her twin, Everel, Edna 
Tornow, Mae Outhouse, Irene Franklin and Nora Cartmell and two brothers, 
Charley Surber and an infant brother.
