	Vernon G. Olson, died on December 17, 1999 at Mapleton, Iowa.
	Vernon Gale was born May 22, 1922, on a farm east of Soldier, Iowa, 
the eldest son of Olius and Anna (Rude) Olson.  On July 16, 1944, Vernon was 
united in marriage to Opal N. Grass in Soldier.  
	Those survivors left to cherish Vernon’s memory include Opal, his wife 
of 55 years; one daughter and her husband, Sharon and Leonard Ainsworth of Des 
Moines, Iowa; and one son and his wife, Randy and Betty Lou Olson of Ute, 
Iowa; four grandchildren; twin great grandchildren of Phoenix, AZ; three 
sisters and their husbands, Marva and Wilbur Holtorf of Phoenix, AZ, Marilyn 
and Jack Argotsinger of Nevada, IA and Maribelle and Richard Betterton of 
Cedar Falls, IA and one brother and his wife, Russell and Donna Olson of 
Omaha, NE along with several other relatives, neighbors and good friends.
	Vernon was preceded in death by his parents.
