MRS. CHRISTINE
OLSON DIES                          (From the collection of Vivian Norby 
Andersen)

	Mrs. Christine Olson, 88, of Castana, mother of Oscar Olson of 
Soldier, died Tuesday at an Onawa nursing home after a long illness.
	Mrs. Olson was born in Sweden Jan. 17, 1875 and came to the United 
States with her family in 1889, settling at Castana.  She married Gust Olson 
March 13, 1893.  He died in 1941.
	Funeral services will be held at the Castana Community church at 1:30 
this Thursday with Rev. Everett Epperson of Onawa officiating.  Burial will be 
in Belvidere cemetery at Turin under the direction of Pearson funeral home.
	Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Leroy Peterson of Sergeant Bluff 
and six sons, Arthur, Arvid and Edward of Castana, Emil of Mapleton, Oscar of 
Soldier and Albin of Sioux City, besides several other relatives.
