OBITUARY OF
ED A. OLSON                                   (From the collection of Vivian 
Norby Andersen)

	Edward Adolph Olson was born at Soldier, Iowa, June 12, 1889 to Chris 
E. and Anna Olson.  After a lingering illness he departed from this life July 
8, 1963 at the age of 74 years and one month.
	He was baptized and confirmed in the Soldier Lutheran Church, to which 
he remained faithful until his death.
	He grew to manhood in the Soldier vicinity and on March 4, 1914 was 
united in marriage to Mabel Kalskett of Moorhead.  To this union four children 
were born:  Leo of Aurora, Oregon; Eleanor McCall of Moorhead; Elliott of 
Sacramento, Calif. and Maynard of Soldier.
	He lived his entire life in the Soldier and Moorhead communities where 
he was engaged in farming until his retirement about 13 years ago.
	He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Oscar, 
John and Martin.
	Left to mourn his passing are his wife and four children, ten 
grandchildren, one brother, Chris of Soldier, several nieces and nephews and a 
host of friends.
	Funeral services were held Thursday, July 11 at Soldier Lutheran south 
church at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Harold E. Koehler of Moorhead conducting the 
service.  Magnus Jepson sang Beyond The Sunset and Going Down The Valley, 
accompanied by Mrs. Jepson.  Miss Jean Amunson was the organist.  The casket 
bearers were Glen Thoreson, Warren, James and Herman Kalskett, Robert Thoreson 
and Virgil C. Olson.  Interment was in Soldier Valley cemetery with 
arrangements by Pearson Funeral Home.
