FRED PARKER (From the collection of Vivian Norby Andersen) OF MOORHEAD DIES (March 27, 1958 paper) Funeral services for Mrs. Fred Parker, 78, Moorhead, who died Thursday at a hospital in Sioux City, were held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Christian Church in Moorhead. Rev. Joel Boone officiated and he was assisted by Rev. Dwight Walker of the First Christian church of Sioux City. Burial was in Memorial Park cemetery in Sioux City. The Oldham funeral home of Soldier had charge of arrangements. Mrs. Parker, the former Stella Elizabeth Holmes, was born October 26, 1879 in Malvern, Ia. She was married April 3, 1901 to Fred R. Parker. They had resided in Moorhead for 57 years. She was a music teacher and had contributed much of her life to the teaching field. She was trained in piano, instrumental and voice. Much of her training she received from the University of Chicago and from Effa Ellis Perfield of New York City. Mrs. Parker, who was well known in Soldier and taught many students in piano here, was a member of Royal Neighbors of America, the Sioux City Music Teachers Association (cut off). She was active in the work of the ___he Christian church in Moorhead. ___church. Survivors include the widower and a daughter, Mrs. Darrell M. Hanna of Sioux City.
