He and his wife have recently been making their home at the Water Nursing Home in Lake City. Funeral services were held at the Moorhead Christian Church Monday, Sept. 19 at 1:00 o’clock. Rev. Joel Boone gave the sermon. Soloist was Magnus Jepson with Mrs. Wayne Outhouse at the organ and Mrs. Magnus Jepson at the piano. Songs were “Must Jesus Bear The Cross Alone” and “Beautiful Isle”. Pallbearers were Andy Ballantyne, Ed Raymond, Kenneth Lund, Arthur Fredrickson, Guy Hanson and Wayne Outhouse. Burial was in Spring Valley Cemetery at Moorhead under the direction of Pearson Funeral Home of Soldier. Charles (Allie) Parker was born at Moorhead August 10, 1875 and died at Cherokee, Iowa September 16, 1960 at the age of 85 years, 1 month and 6 days. He married Nellie Wolford at Moorhead October 10, 1897 and the couple lived in the Moorhead vicinity most of their lives. Mr. Parker is survived by his wife; one son, Darrell of Mukwonago, Wis.; six grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren, and two sister(sic), Mrs. Nellie Rhodes of Omaha and Mrs. Helen Youngkin of Des Moines. He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Charles.
