      Earl "Donk" Rowland, 82, of South Sioux City, formerly of Newcastle, 
died Monday, Feb. 10, 2003,  in South Sioux City.
     Earl was born Aug. 21, 1920, in rural Turin, Iowa, the son of Orvel and 
Fay (Brown) Rowland.  
     He married Nadine Crosgrove on Jan. 12, 1944, in Onawa. 
Survivors include his wife, Nadine of Newcastle; a daughter and her husband, 
Cheryl and Dave Draheim of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; a son and his wife, Craig and 
Mary Rowland of Omaha; four grandchildren; a stepsister and her husband, Alene 
and Bob Core of Paris, Ark.; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Fay; four brothers, Jim, 
Sid, Paul "Duggan" and Gene; a stepbrother, Cecil; and his stepmother, Odessa 
Jones.
