She passed to her eternal home at a nursing home in Onawa on Wednesday, June 4, 1958 at 3:30 a.m. at the age of 86 years 5 months and 4 days. At the age of 19 years she came to America and found employment at Sioux Cityy(sic) where she was known as Mary Baker. On January 11, 1894 she was united in marriage to Ole A. Rude. They established their home on a farm near Moorhead, where they lived until 1940, at which time they moved into the town of Moorhead. Mrs. Rude was a member of the Soldier Lutheran Church and held a life membership in the Mission Guild. Survivors include two sons Andrew of Hinton, and Conrad of Dunlap; five daughters, Esther Childs and Mabel Bryceson of Moorhead, Anna Olson of Mapleton, Mildred Humes of Macomb, Ill, and Harriette Watson of Red Oak, Iowa. Also 25 grandchildren and 42 great grandchildren. Her husband, two sons, Elvin and Marion, and one daughter, Inga, preceded her in death. Funeral services were held at the Soldier Lutheran south church Friday, June 6 at 2:00 o’clock with Rev. Kilde and Rev. Thomson officiating. Pallbearers were Gilbert Rustin, Guy Severson, Enno Mathiadess, Delbert Harris, Martin Kalskett, and Martin Johnson. Arrangements were made by the Oldham Funeral Home of Soldier.
