WELL KNOWN 
MOORHEAD MAN DIES                (From the collection of Vivian Norby Andersen)

	Carl J. Sandvold, 76, well known Moorhead businessman, died at his 
home Sunday after a long illness that had kept him bedfast for eleven years.  
Funeral services were held Wednesday, at the First Christian church at 
Moorhead with Rev. Samuel Wall officiating.  Burial was in Spring Valley 
cemetery under direction of Pearson funeral home.
	Mr. Sandvold was born Dec. 12, 1886 at Hadeland, Norway, coming to 
Moorhead in 1902.  He married Fern Howard Feb. 6, 1949.  He was a member of 
the Christian church, Moorhead O. E. S. and Masons.
	Survivors include the widow, two sons, Winston and Roy J., both of 
Albuquerque, N. M.; two daughters, Mrs. Genevieve Kettler and Mrs. Thomas 
Maloney, both of Pacific Grove, Cal.; a brother, Chris of Moorhead and three 
step daughters of Des Moines.
