Roy Smith Dies Of		        Date indicated is Jan. 19, 1958

	Funeral services for Roy M. Smith, 63, who died at his home in Jordan 
township between Soldier and Moorhead last Thursday, were held at the 
Christian church in Moorhead Sunday at 2:30.  Rev. Joel Boone officiated and 
burial was in Spring Valley cemetery under the direction of Pearson funeral 
home of Onawa.
	Mr. Smith died unexpectedly of a heart attack at his home.
	He was born April 26, 1894 at Portsmouth, Ia.  A farmer all his life 
he had resided in the Soldier and Moorhead areas for the last 21 years.  He 
married Viola Tornow at Moorhead February 22, 1917.  He was a member of the 
Christian church.
	Survivors include the widow, his father, O. J. Smith, and stepmother, 
Mrs. Nellie Smith, both of Logan; and three sisters, Mrs. Will Hansen of 
Dunlap, Mrs. Albert Sorensen of Lake City, and Mrs. Helen Bradley of Des 
Moines.
