MRS. NANNIE SMITH                    (From the collection of Vivian Norby 
Andersen)

	Mrs. Nannie Tressie Long Smith was born on August 17, 1891, at 
Chestnut, Ill., and died on April 25, 1982 at Pleasant View Nursing Home in 
Whiting, Iowa, 
	Her parents were David and Ada Ayres Long.    On January 14, 1915, she 
was united in marriage to George Carl Smith in the Congregational Church 
Parsonage at Whiting.   To this union were born three children.  Mr. Smith 
died in July, 1961.
	
	Survivors are her daughter, Mrs. Allan (Virginia) McClain of Lake 
Park, Iowa, and one son of Onawa; eight grandchildren, one step grandchild, 
six great grandchildren, and one daughter-in-law, Bernice Smith, of Whiting.  
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son, Kenneth, and 
three brothers, Earl Long, Beecher Long and Kenneth Long.
