Paul Smith                       --Onawa Sentinel  January 30, 2003

	Paul L. Smith, 84, Onawa, Iowa passed away Sunday, January 26, 2003 at 
Elmwood Care Centre in Onawa.
	Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 29, 2003 at 
First Congregational United Church of Christ in Onawa with Rev. John Noer 
officiating.  Burial will be in Kennebec Cemetery in Castana, Iowa.  
Visitation will be form(sic) 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, with a prayer service 
at 7:00 p.m. at Rush Family Care Service at Onawa.
	Survivors include his wife, Caryl of 62 years; two sons, John and his 
wife Dee Smith of Chesterfield, MO and Clark Smith of Castana; four 
grandchildren; five great grandchildren; a sister and her husband, Dorothy and 
Ralph Perdue of Fairbanks, AK and two nieces.
	A complete obituary will be printed later.

     Paul L. Smith, age 84 of Onawa, Iowa, passed away Sunday, January 26, 
2003, at Elmwood Care Centre in Onawa. 
      Paul was born September 9, 1918 at Castana, the son of Fred and Nellie 
(Daugaard) Smith.   He married Caryl Zediker January 7, 1941 in Sioux City, 
Iowa. 
    Survivors include his wife, Caryl of 62 years; two sons, John and his 
wife, Dee Smith of Chesterfield, Missouri and Clark Smith of Castana, Iowa; 
four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a sister and her husband, 
Dorothy and Ralph Perdue of Fairbanks, Alaska and two nieces. 
    He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter-in-law, Julie 
Smith.
