      Ella A. Soukup, age 91 of Ute, Iowa, died Wednesday, February 12, 2003, 
at Mapleton, Iowa.
      Ella Amanda Soukup was born March 2, 1911, at Ute, Iowa, the daughter of 
John and Minnie (Freerking) Petersen. 
      On January 17, 1933, Ella was united in marriage to Fred Soukup in Ute. 
      
      Survivors  include Fred, her husband of 70 years; one son and his wife, 
Gene and Karen Soukup of Ute, Iowa; two grandsons, Dennis Soukup of Clovis, 
California and Steven Soukup and his wife, Lori of Las Vegas, Nevada; one 
granddaughter, Patti Vogt and her husband, Burdette, of Charter Oak, Iowa.  

     She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, and three brothers..
