Carl Spaulding, son of John and Sarah Doll Spaulding was born near Hamburg, Iowa, September 17, 1877. On October 4, 1899 at Onawa he was married to Myrta Smalley of Hamburg, Iowa. To this union one daughter was born, Mrs. Andrew Rude of Salix, Iowa. He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife Myrta, the daughter, Mrs. Zada Rude of Salix, Iowa; three grandchildren,; two great grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Bertha Cotter of Brookfield, Missouri; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Carl was a good husband, a loving father, a good neighbor and a loyal friend. He delighted in doing anything that would bring pleasure and enjoyment to his many friends. In summing up his life, we may well use the words of the well known poem. “He lived in a house by the side of the road, and was a friend of man.” File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/ia/monona/obits/s/spauldin2228gob.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/iafiles/ File size: 1.7 Kb
