She has been a resident of a nursing home in West Seattle for some time. Funeral services were held at First Lutheran Church in West Seattle December 18 and interment was in Forest Lawn Cemetery there. She was the wife of Frank Strain, long time barber in Soldier and former deputy sheriff. He passed away several years ago. The only child, who survives, is Rev. Warren Strain, the first local young man from the Soldier Lutheran congregation to enter the ministry. She was a sister of the late John Hedum.
