MRS. OLENA SWENSON                 (From the collection of Vivian Norby 
Andersen)

	Mrs. Olena Swenson, a lifetime resident of the Moorhead-Soldier 
community, died August 31, 1971 at the Maple Heights Nursing Home at Mapleton, 
Iowa after several months of failing health.
	Olena was born June 13, 1889 at Soldier, Iowa.  She was the youngest 
daughter of Ole and Olena Peterson.  
	She was married to Swen A. Swenson July 18, 1906.
	Survivors include the widower Swen Swenson, 4 sons, Andy of Milford, 
Iowa; Harold and Clifford of Moorhead, Iowa and Swen K. of Storm Lake, Iowa; 2 
daughters, Mrs. Richard (Gladys) Olson of Soldier, Iowa and Mrs. Arthur 
(Lillian Price of Council Bluffs, Iowa; 21 grandchildren and 19 great 
grandchildren.
	She was preceded in death by her parents; two children who died in 
infancy; 2 brothers and 4 sisters.
