Thompson, 41, of Council Bluffs was killed in a car accident at Council Bluffs last Friday. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, Nov. 2 at the Soldier Lutheran Church with Pastor Harry Sorensen officiating. Mrs. Norman C. Hanson sang “Softly and Tenderly” and “Abide With Me”, accompanied by Mrs. Harry Andersen. Interment was in Spring Valley cemetery at Moorhead under the directin (sic) of Pearson Funeral Home. Casket bearers were Lyle Johnson, Ralph Ulmer, Gale Lee, Glen Holverson, Wyland Knutson and Bryce Lee. Vyron Ellsworth Thompson was born November 10, 1922 on a farm near Moorhead, Iowa and departed from this life on October 30, 1964 at Council Bluffs at the age of 41 years, 11 months and 20 days. He was a son of Mabel and Angle Thompson. He attended Soldier High School. He served in the United States Navy “Seebees” and during the past years was a truck driver. He is survived by his parents; one brother, Leo of Gilroy, Calif.; one sister of Onawa; six nephews and two nieces.
