	C. Maxine Thoreson, 73, of Sioux City died Sunday, March 1, 1998.
	
	Mrs. Thoreson was born May 5, 1924, in Castana, Iowa, the daughter of 
Christian and Mathilda (Casperson) Longlee.  She married Raymond Thoreson on 
March 26, 1949, in Soldier, Iowa.   He died Dec. 27, 1991, in Sioux City.
	Survivors include two daughters and their husbands, Deborah and David 
Speidel of Norfolk, Neb., and Lynne and Philip McBride of Sioux City; a 
brother, Clifford of Onawa; three sisters, Esther Kuhlman of Onawa and Helen 
and her husband, Everett Hord, and Lillian and her husband, Donald Lane, all 
of Sioux City; and three grandchildren.
	She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Melvin, 
Harold and Carl; and a sister, Mary Knutson.
