Kenneth Thoreson
Dies at Cedar Falls                              (From the collection of 
Vivian Norby Andersen)

	Services for Kenneth J. Thoreson, 68, of Cedar Falls,IA were held last 
Saturday, Oct. 7 at the Nottger Schoof Funeral Home, with Rev. Homer Larsen, 
pastor of Nazareth Lutheran Church officiating.
	Kenneth passed away Thursday, October 5, after being in Sartori 
Hospital for a week.  He had suffered many years from emphysema.
	He was born July 21, 1899 at Soldier, Iowa, the son of Theodore S. 
Thoreson and Hilda O. Hanson Thoreson.  He was baptized and confirmed in the 
Soldier Lutheran Church.  Ken adhered to his Lutheran faith and had many fond 
memories of his earlier years at Soldier.
	He married Lucille Lamb in Cedar Falls Sept. 5, 1936.  He was a World 
War veteran, member of Black Hawk Lodge No. 65 AF&AM, Cedar Falls, Chapter No. 
78, Order of the Eastern Star, Cedar Falls, of which he was a Worthy Patron in 
1947, and a member of the American Legion.  He was a salesman for U. S. 
Chemical Co. for many years, retiring in 1962.
	Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Leland (Patricia) Worth 
of Hillcrest, Illinois; a brother, Myron of Spirit Lake, and a sister, Mrs. 
Calvin (Bernice) Ward Cedar Falls; and two grandchildren.
