Thrift (From the collection of Vivian Norby Andersen) Mrs. Bettie Thrift of Onawa died June 23 at Burgess Memorial Hospital a Bettie Mary Emma Harms was born June 15, 1888 at Stockton, Illinois. On June 16, 1907, Bettie was married to Perry Thrift, in Rhea, Oklahoma. She is survived by two sons Bernie Thrift, Onawa, and Lyle Thrift, Fallon, Nevada; two daughters, Mrs. Dales (Josephine) Alexander, Onawa and Mrs. Marvin (Mary) Hull, Sioux City; three brothers, Levi Harms, Onawa, Ed Harms, West Plains, Missouri, and John Harms, Fort Collins, Colorado; ten grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren, one great great grandchild and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Josephine Hood Harms, her husband, Perry, who died September 1, 1954, three brothers, William, Jess, and Earl; three sisters, Mrs. Harry (Dora) Candee, Mrs. Charles (Josephine) Calloway, and Mrs. Fred (Lena) Farwell and a daughter, Mrs. Malvern (Margaret) Aust, who died June 1, 1984.
