Torgerson, one of the old pioneers of the Soldier community, passed away at the Onawa hospital Sunday, July 26 at the age of 88. Ole A. Torgerson, son of Andrew and Ella Torgerson, was born in Norway on July 3, 1881. He passed away at the Onawa hospital at the age of 88 years on July 26, 1969. On May 15, 1903 he was united in marriage to Sadie Johnson. He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, one son, two brothers and one sister. Survivors include two sons, Elmer and Kenneth, both of Soldier; three daughters, Mrs. Ella Hartson of Sioux City, Mrs. Roy Savery of Charter Oak and Mrs. Charles Butler of Moorhead; 16 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren; two brothers, Martin of Soldier and Einar of Little Sioux and two sisters, Mrs. Emma Timm of Dunlap and Mrs. Minnie Meadows of Onawa.
