	Earl E. Ulven, age 78, of Mapleton passed away, Thursday, January 10, 
1991.
	Mr. Ulven was born December 17, 1912 to Olaf and Edith (Braden) Ulven 
at Soldier, Iowa.  He married Alma O’Connor August 2, 1935, at Soldier.  
	He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Dennis; a grandson; 
two brothers and a sister.
	Survivors include his wife, Alma; a son and daughter-in-law, Chuck and 
Sarah of Smithland; a brother, Vern of Soldier; two sisters, Mrs. Mildred 
Britton of Martelle, Iowa and Mrs. Raymond (Doris) Stoffrengon(sic) of Lake 
View, Iowa; two grandsons, Clark and Dennis Ulven; and two great-grandchildren.
