Zella Z. Christensen

RODNEY, Iowa - Zella Zellena Christensen, 96, of Rodney died Monday, March 29, 
1999, at Burgess Memorial Hospital in Onawa, Iowa.

Mrs. Christensen was born Sept. 4, 1902, in Rodney, the daughter of John R. 
and Almira Sophea (Bennett) Patterson. She was raised in the Rodney area.

She married Joseph Leo "Lefty" Werling in October 1921 in Mitchell, S.D. She 
later married Carl Christensen.

Survivors include a son, James J. "Jerry" Werling of Whiting, Iowa; a 
daughter, Margie Craig of Rodney; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; 
and eight great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three sisters, three brothers, a son and a great-
grandson.
