	Harlow C. Wingate, 82, of Soldier, Iowa, died Thursday, August 16, 
1990, in Burgess Memorial Hospital in Onawa.
	He was born August 9, 1908, the son of Oscar and Nettie (Melby) 
Wingate, on the Wingate farm east of Soldier.    He married Marilla McDole 
June 30, 1932, at Onawa.  
	Survivors include his wife, Marilla, of Soldier, two sons, Rolland and 
Noel, both of Soldier, a daughter, Mrs. Leo (Katherine) Dean of Mapleton, a 
sister, Alice Thoreson of St. Paul, Minn., and two grandchildren, Shana and 
Troy.
	He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Nadine Berens.
