Onawa Democrat, Dec. 1936: 
Miss Catheryne Barker was born December 13, 1852 in Hilgery, England. She was 
married to Robert James Wright in 1871 and left England in 1973. They 
journeyed to America to make their home in Monona County, Iowa. 
The first child was born in England and died the next morning after arriving 
in Monona County. There were 14 children of which seven are still living. They 
are: J.W. Wright of Onawa, Iowa; Mrs. Ella Zimmerman of Castana, Iowa; Albert 
and Nelson of Onawa; Mrs. Kate Ooten of Onawa; Mrs. Isabelle Stanley of 
Primghar, Iowa and Peter Wright of Onawa. 
Her husband, Mr. Robert James Wright and seven children preceded her in death. 
Besides her immediate family, she is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Ella 
Ellwoods of Bothwell Ontario, Canada; Mrs. Nellie Ricketts of McGregor, Iowa; 
one brother Mr. Shadrick Barker of Berkely,Calif. and 10 grand children. 
She was 84 eyars and 2 days old at the time of her death. She spent 34 years 
on the farm near the lake. She was a kind and loving mother devoted to her 
family.
