She had resided there the past six months, moving from Ute. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Community Church at Castana. Rev. Walter W. Stark and Rev. Everett Epperson officiated. Evan Davies sang “The Old Rugged Cross” and “Abide With Me” with Mrs. Davies at the organ. Burial was in Kennebec cemetery at Castana under the direction of Pearson Funeral Home. Bearers were Leo Bellis, Robert Bellis, John Mortensen, Roy Bellis, Lowell Dinwiddie and Willis Brink. Mrs. York was born Nov. 22, 1878 in Rooks County, Kansas. She married John York Mar 2, 1898 at Castana. Mr. York died Feb. 12, 1924. She was a former member of the Christian Church. Survivors include a son, Albert (Bud) York of Earling; two sisters, Mrs. June Mortensen of Moorhead, and Mrs. Ollie Perkins of Shenandoah, three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
