Newspaper Oscar Lindgren Died Suddenly Friday Morning Franse Oscar Lindgren was born at Brengetofte, in the Provinde of Smoland, Sweden, on the 8th day of July, 1875. He was baptized and confimed in the congregation at Brengetofte and there held membership when he left for America as a young man of only 18 years. Coming to this country he settled at Essex, Iowa, and at that place he lived until 1911, at which time he came to Carthage, S.D. Mr. Lindgren was married to Miss Emma Malinberg at Red Oak, Iowa, on the 9th of April, 1902, and to this union was born four sons, one of whom died in infancy and Richard, who passed away in 1929. Raymond and Russell survivi their father. Although Mr. Lindgren had been ailing in health for some time, the news of his sudden death Friday morning, July 24th, came as a shock to his many friends. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife and two sons, also three brothers, Edward, Eric and Raleigh, all of Essex, Iowa; and three sisters, Mrs. Augusta Brunette, of Red Oak, Iowa; Mrs. Tillie Crouch, of Los Angeles, Cal.; and Mrs. Jesse Daniels of Lincoln, Neb.; and many other relatives and friends. Mr. Lindgren was always interested in the community where he lived, taking an active part in its civic affairs and always trying to further its true progress and development. He was a member of the Zion Lutheran congregation of Carthage, which congregation he joined shortly after coming to this community. He was at the time of this death, a mamger of the Board of Deacons. Funeral services were held from Zion Lutheran church Sunday afternoon, July 26th, and were in charge of Rev. H.C. Berg, the pastor of the church. Interment was in the Swedish cemetery, north of the city.
