Mr. Brockway, a descendant of some of the original settlers, donated the books to the Musser Public Library in Muscatine, Iowa. There also is an index (13 1/2 pages of 60 names each) of these books. Many details about deaths, families and newspaper articles concerning the early settlers which took place before the beginning of vital records in 1880. This list was compiled in 1876.
