McCoy (Coyner), one of the well known and most respected citizens of Nichols, passed away Tuesday morning at 2:45 o'clock. She had been ill for some time with cancer of the stomach but had been about the house all of the time until about two weeks and a half ago, when seeming to be very weak, took to her bed. There she had been ever since, failing very fast until the Lord came to release her of her suffering. Ingrey Jane Hollenbeck was born in Washington county, Indiana, July 26, 1824, and died at her home in Nichols, Iowa, September 26, 1905 aged 81 years and 2 months. She was united in marriage to Martin L. Coyner in Putnam county, Ind., on the 2nd day of July, 1840. To this union were born six children, all of whom haave predeced her to the better world, except her daughter, Alice, whith whom she made her home since the death of her husband some years ago. She leaves to mourn her daughter, daughter-in-law, Mrs. Alex Coyner, and seven grandchildren. Mrs. J.W. Rummells, Jr. of Nichols; Mrs. Geo. A. Hahn of Muscatine; Mark Coyner of Muscatine; Clay Coyner of Muscatine; Ed Coyner of Nichols; and Charles Slater of Fort Barausca, Fla. also four great grand children, Harolde, Amanda, and Helen Rummells and Marie F. Hahn. She came to Iowa with her husband in 1856 and settled in Linn county where they made their home until they came to Muscatine county and have since resided in this vicinity. She united with the Baptist church while quite young but later joined the Christian church at this place, and has since been a constant member of that church and has always been a willing worker for her Master. The funeral services were held from the Christian church, conducted by Rev. E.A. Brinton and the remains were laid to rest by the side of those of her husband.
