Muscatine Weekly Journal   March 20, 1885
Alexander Coyner, son of M.L. Coyner, died Wednesday forenoon of pneumonia.  
Mr. Coyner had been sick only about a week, but it was knwon for two or three 
days that he could not recover.  He leaves a wife and several small children 
to mourn his death.  He was about thirty-five years of age, honored by all of 
his acquaintances, and loved by his friends.  A good citizen, sober, 
industrious, and cheerful; his death will be mourned by a.l.
