Bascom, Sylvanus C. Born 1830 in Brown County, Ohio. Married to Mary Brown, and
one son, George, born. Enlisted August 25, 1862, at Indianola, Iowa, Company D,
First Iowa Volunteer Cavalry; discharged April 10, 1863, at St. Louis, Mo.
Resided at Primghar and Sanborn. A member of the M. E. Church and minister of
gospel for sixteen years. Died May 3, 1895.
