W. Schee and O. H. Montzheimer (1909) Beebe, William Wallace. Resides Paullina, Iowa; born May 17, 1841, in Michigan; his father, Daniel P. (born September 26, 1809, in New York); mother, Eliza Jane Beebe (born September 25, 1814, in New York). Was married (Ellen Amelia) December 21, 1887; children: Frank Wallace, Bertha Amelia, Gladys, Fredanna. Enlisted August 5, 1862, at Essex, Ill., Company B, One Hundred and Thirteenth Illinois Volunteer Infantry; served at Hollow Springs, Vicksburg, first attack; Arkansas Post, all through siege of Vicksburg and Jackson, Miss.; was shot and taken prisoner; in Libby prison; hospital at Richmond; four months in prison; paroled and returned to Chicago January 1, 1864, returning to regiment May 19, at Memphis, Tenn.; afterwards in fight at Guntown, Miss.; taken prisoner and held in Andersonville and other prisons nine months; discharged at Springfield, Ill., July 1, 1865. Settled in O'Brien County March 1, 1883, living in Baker Township. Member McKenzie Post, G. A. R., Sheldon, Iowa.
