Caroline J. Groendyk, 87, of Sioux City died Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2003 in Sioux 
City.
Mrs. Groendyk was born Dec. 14, 1915, in Middleburg, Iowa, the daughter of 
Henry and Katie (De Young) Van Der Wilt. 
She married Sebastian Groendyk on April 29, 1937, in Ocheyedan, Iowa.  Mr. 
Groendyk passed away June 22, 1978, in Sioux City.

Survivors include five children and their spouses, Carolyn and Charles Keleher 
of Sioux City, Mary Ann and Dennis Naeve of Toddville, Iowa, Henry and Janet 
Groendyk of Sioux City, Edwin and Jane Groendyk of Sioux City and Elizabeth 
and Him Windes of Sioux City; a brother, Ervin Van Der Wilt of Sioux City; two 
sisters, Angeline Nattress of Sibley, Iowa, and Geraldean and her husband, 
Howard Hoffmeyer of Sheldon, Iowa; 19 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 
two great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Shirley Helm; a granddaughter, 
Julie Clemon; four sisters; and three brothers.
