September 22, 1928 - October 26, 1989
Ferrell Reed, 61, of Clarinda, died Thursday night, Oct. 26, 1989, at Iowa
Methodist hospital in Des Moines where he had been hospitalized since Oct. 11.
He was born Sept. 22, 1928, at Clarinda, the son of Harold and Beulah Dow Reed.
He graduated from Clarinda High School in 1946 and received his B.S. in Pharmacy
from Drake University in 1950. 
He had worked at Taylor Pharmacy since he was in junior high school and joined
Mr. Taylor in a partnership in 1957. Later he bought the entire business and has
operated it until his death. He was married to Ruthellen Humphrey on Oct. 12, 1952.

Survivors include his wife Ruthellen of the home and four sons, Gordon of
Clarinda, Brian of Guymon, Ok, Bruce of Coldwater, Mi, and George of
Bartlesville, Ok. There are five grandchildren, one brother, Allen Reed of
College Springs, and sister Mrs. Max (Jennie) James, Omaha, Ne. 
He was preceded in death by his mother and father. 
Memorial services were held Monday afternoon, Oct. 30, at Trinity Presbyterian
Church with burial in the Clarinda Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to
Trinity Presbyterian Church or the Clarinda Foundation. Walker-Merrick was in
charge of arrangements.
