He was born Aug. 12, 1926, at New Market, Iowa, the son of Lloyd and Mildred Clark Shore. He attended business college in Des Moines, Iowa, and was a veteran of World War II. On Aug. 21, 1950, he married Betty Jean Clampitt who preceded him in death April 24, 1992. Mr. Shore had been associated with the auto business since 1946, when he worked for Savage and Crawford as a bookkeeper. In 1948, he bought interest from Jack Savage to become Shore and Crawford Motor Co. In 1961, he established Shore Motor Co., which he operated until his retirement and sold the business to his sons. He is survived by two sons, Larry Shore and wife Pam and Kim Shore and wife Marilyn all of Clarinda. There are eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Donna Hansey of Roseville, Minn., is his sister. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Friday, June 21, at Walker-Merrick, with Father Gittins officiating. Wake services were held at 6:45 p.m., Thursday evening, followed by visitation from 7-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Clarinda cemetery.
