Memorial services are to be held Wednesday, the funeral at 2 p.m. at the Lavelle Funeral Home and burial in Clarinda Cemetery. The Rev D C Davis of Westminster United Presbyterian Church will officiate. Casketbearers will be R J Swanson, John Hunter, Ferrell Reed, Ed Fulk, Ben Goecker and Hal Barr. Organist will be Mrs. John Sperry. Ole Christian Wibholm, the son of Mr. And Mrs. Christian Wibholm, was born July 16, 1881 in Hjorring, Denmark. He was married to Kathrina Jorgenson on August 28, 1915, and they farmed in Denmark until 1924, soon after which the fmaily came to United States. Mr. and Mrs. Wibholm first made their home in America at Woodward, where Mr. Wibholm worked at the state school for eight years, chiefly with the improvement of the dairy herd. He had similar work in Clarinda at the Mental Health Institute, building the herd up until his retirement in 1952. Honors were many for Mr. Wibholm. He served on the Page County selective service board for 17 years, was a member of Kiwanis, Chamber of Commerce, Westminster Church and Page County Fair Board. His community service was recognized by the Lions Club in 1956 when he received Clarinda's outstanding citizen award. The commendation told of his 4-H leadership, starting with local club leadership and member of the county committee. The girls club chose him as an honorary member. Wibholm Hall was named for him, dedicated in 1955. He was secretary of the Page County Fair for many years, spearheading the improvement program which has caused the facilities to better serve farm youths. He was strong in dairy improvement work. In addition to caring for the Holstein herd at the MHI, he was secretary of the Southwest Iowa Holstein Breeders Association from its start in 1948. He aided many young dairymen to start their herds. He was instrumental while on the Chamber of Commerce agricultural committee to start a Southwest Iowa Milk Producers Assn. He served on the Municipal Hospital Board, Clarinda Building Corporation board and worked on other local civic groups. The Wibholms lost their son, Ole Christian Jr., in 1944, when he was a casualty in the Pacific during World War II. Mr. Wibholm's wife, two daughters, seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild are among the immediate family. The daughters are Mrs Jack (Ingeborg) Rennick of Gate City, VA, and Mrs. Warren (Esther) Raney of Jefferson, Ia. Two of his sisters are Mrs. Knud Jorgenson and Mrs. Marthea Ericson, and brothers, Martin, Valdemor and Soren, all of Denmark, and a brother Anders of Williams, Iowa.
