"Bill" William A. "Bill" Thompson, 83, of Sylvania Township passed away December 23, 2004 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio Perrysburg. He was born in Emmetsburg, Iowa on February 28, 1921, to Edith and Arthur Thompson and married Elizabeth "Betty" Waldron on December 28, 1946. He was a former general sales manager of Spartan Chemical Co., Toledo, Ohio. After his retirement, he became interested in garden railroading. He was very proud of the one he built in his backyard among his trees and flowers. Bill was also a devoted member of Christ the King Catholic Church. Mr. Thompson is survived by wife Betty; daughter, Diane; son, Scott (Patty); grandchildren, Billy, Patrick and Anna; sister, Virginia Bryant; nieces, Georgia Munderloh and Barbara Ferrell. Friends may call at the Foth-Dorfmeyer Mortuary, 3815 Sylvania Ave. (between Monroe St. & Talmadge Rd.) Tuesday from 3-5 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral prayers will be offered Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in Christ the King Catholic Church. Entombment Toledo Memorial Park. Scripture services will be held Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the mortuary. Memorial tributes may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
