AN OLD RESIDENT IS DEAD
J. F. Hand, a Pioneer of Des Moines, Passes
Away at Home at Oak and Pleasant Avenues.
   J. F. Hand, a pioneer resident of Des Moines
and for thirty-three years a stationary engineer
in the employ of the Shepard Bros. Woolen Mills
company, died late last night at his home at Oak
and Pleasant avenues. Mr. Hand was 68 years of
age and was well known among the old residents of
the city. Mr. Hand is survived by a wife and three
grown children.
   The funeral announcement will be made later.
